About the role
Reporting to the GM of Marketing and Communications, the Digital Marketing Coordinator supports the delivery of Foodbank Australia’s digital presence with a strong focus on social media content creation, engagement, analytics and trend-responsive storytelling.

This role is hands-on and creative, ideal for someone straight out of University or 1-2 years into their career who can proactively identify social media trends, produce engaging content, and help grow Foodbank’s reach across digital channels. The role also assists with website content updates, basic digital reporting, and general support across the Marketing & Communications team.

Key Responsibilities
Social Media & Content Creation

  • Create fresh, compelling social media content aligned to brand voice and campaign needs.
  • Monitor social trends and agenda surf
  • Support daily channel management including posting, scheduling and community engagement.
  • Assist in maintaining the Social Media strategy and ensuring brand consistency.
  • Work with Ambassadors to help create content for their channels and leverage content created by them back through Foodbank assets
  • Actively seek to grow connections with key influencers via Foodbank’s digital platforms

Engagement & Analytics

  • Monitor and report on social media performance, identifying opportunities to improve engagement and reach.
  • Prepare monthly analytics summaries across key platforms using native insights and reporting tools.

Website & Digital Support

  • Update and upload content on Foodbank’s website
  • Assist with basic SEO-friendly content formatting
  • Create content assets for digital channels including website tiles, EDM images, and simple graphics.

About you

  • Manages time effectively and can organise tasks across competing priorities.
  • Takes responsibility for meeting deadlines and delivering high-quality work.
  • Works well with others and contributes positively to team culture.
  • Shows a positive, flexible attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Work in Foodbank office or on Foodbank location minimum four days per week.

Qualifications / Experience
Required

  • Experience managing social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn; TikTok advantageous).
  • Strong writing, editing and storytelling skills.
  • Basic video editing
  • Basic graphic design skills (Canva or similar).
  • Comfortable creating short-form video content.
